Divorcee receives UK’s largest divorce payout

An American woman, Jamie Cooper-Hohn, received a record £337 million as part of the divorce from her husband, Sir Chris Hohn. She was awarded this amount by Mrs Justice Roberts in a private hearing in the family division of the High Court.

In the hearing, Sir Chris Hohn’s lawyers maintained he had total assets worth around £60 million, but Jamie Cooper-Hohn’s lawyers claimed he had assets worth around £890 million.

Chris Hohn manages The Children’s Investment Fund Management (UK), a hedge fund that mainly returns profits to a charitable foundation, according to The Guardian.

The couple married in 1995 and have four children, including triplets.
