Woman wins right to claim maintenance from ex-husband 30 years after divorce

A woman whose marriage broke down more than 30 years ago has been granted permission under a decision by the Supreme Court to seek payments from her ex-husband.

Kathleen Wyatt has brought the claim against her former husband, Dale Vince. Vince is a one-time New Age traveller who made a fortune from wind turbines. He runs the green energy company, Ecotricity.

Even though the judges gave Wyatt permission to bring the claim, they warned her that she faces “formidable difficulties” in proving that any financial order should be made in her favour as a result of the lapse of time.
