Kim Pullinger

I have been a barrister at Imperium Chambers since June 2023 after I successfully completed my pupillage under the supervision of Paul Turner.

I have developed a broad range of experiences in all aspects of immigration law. I regularly attend the First-tier and Upper Tribunal on behalf of Appellants in respect of appeals, Judicial Reviews, and bail applications. I have also built up extensive experience in preparing applications for all sorts of applications from visit visas to asylum claims. I have particular experience in human rights cases, asylum, spouse/fiancee cases, ETS/TOEIC cases, visit visas, and Skilled Worker applications.

I am also regularly instructed to represent the Home Office in the First-tier Tribunal and have worked on large, complex cases involving Appellants from all over the world. This has given me not only extensive advocacy experience, but also a unique insight into how the Home Office approach cases. I am therefore able to predict and deal with weaknesses in a case before they get to court.

I have worked at Imperium Chambers since 2021, initially as a paralegal. The vast majority of Paul Turner’s work is with direct access clients, so I have built up extensive experience in this area. I have prepared hundreds of applications and appeals for clients directly, and know the sorts of stresses and pressures people go through when trying to regularise their stay in the UK. Prior to working at Imperium, I worked as a paralegal for a sole-practising barrister specialising in immigration, family, and civil law.
