I often attend court for landlord & tenant cases, both residential and commercial. This includes multi-track possession hearings, anti-social behaviour injunctions and advising commercial tenants who seek relief from forfeiture.
My approach
I will always strive to achieve your objectives while providing clear and frank advice. I am responsive and usually complete work within 48-hours.
My work
My landlord & tenant work encompasses disrepair claims and Equality Act claims, representing landlords, tenants, local authorities and management directors. I successfully appealed in a case where a judge erred in law about whether a party was entitled to remain in the property.
In my property work, I have assisted with a dispute where the defendant was permitted to override an easement when using parking spaces for building works. I have acted for property owners as well as squatters in adverse possession claims, and my research was published in the City Law Journal. I have also advised on applications to the Property Chamber of the First-tier Tribunal.
I accept instructions in planning inquiries, drawing on my experience from working in economic consulting. I am particularly interested in litigation relating to infrastructure projects and housing developments. I have been instructed in numerous matters where tenants have not complied with the local planning and building regulations, as well as environmental protection orders. I have obtained strike out and summary judgment in cases where the Claimant has not met the evidential burden to demonstrate a real prospect of success.
About me
I am regularly instructed in commercial, property and divorce cases. My work includes breaches of contract, landlord & tenant litigation, and complex disputes over real estate. I frequently appear in the County Court as well as the Senior Courts and have won multiple appeals. Outside of practice, I lecture on cruises about history.
